Now in association with Fret-N-Fiddle, we are proud to welcome our new drum instructor Roger Copen to our fine staff of music teachers. Roger is a native of Charleston, WV where he began playing drums at the early age of 15. His love for music led him to join the school marching band where he played throughout jr. high and high school. After his school years he continued his studies under two of the areas top instructors. Frank Thompson of Guthrie & Bean Music and David Herbert of Herbert Music Co.

As Roger became more involved in the local music scene. He joined the Charleston Musicians Union local 136 and from the 70's till now he has played in some of the top bands around the tri-state. Bands like Coal Brick, Black Horse, New Southern Dixie, The Dave McCormick Band, (SRO) and the Audio Outlaws.

Now with over 30 years in the music business, Roger has the knowledge and experience to be recognized and associated with some of the areas top musicians and instructors. Roger will work one-on-one with each student to establish the foundation needed to excel in the art of drumming through musicianship. He teaches snare drum and drum set players. His focus is on stick technique both traditional and matched grip, sight reading, rudimental skills, and 4-way coordination for drum set. He Also enjoys doing free clinics at local schools where he can share his passion for music with today's youth. Roger is now enrolling new students at this time.
